And when you get into the more spiritual reading realms (as opposed to more traditional love, money or career kinds of counseling or advice) you may find yourself more likely to be subjected to more manipulative reader than you're comfortable with.

Just use your common sense. Don't "sign up" for any type of service or ritual you are uncomfortable with. Make sure the intuitive is legitimate if he or she works alone....or if they are employed by a network or service, simply make sure they are on the up and up! How? Make sure they have a track record of success, are not fly by night and have a consumer contract or policy in place you are comfortable with. Basically...just use the same good sense you'd use for hiring any other service professional, and you'll be good to go!
